Europalia Georgia festival in Brussel’s Bozar

Europalia Georgia, running from October 4, 2023, to January 14, 2024, presents over 60 events and interdisciplinary creations, making it an unmissable opportunity for European theatre professionals to immerse themselves in the cultural riches of Georgia.

Europalia Georgia offers European theatre professionals a unique chance to explore the rich cultural heritage of Georgia. The festival’s opening exhibition at Bozar in Brussels, „The avant-garde in Georgia (1900-1936),“ unveils a forgotten chapter of European avant-garde art. The Art & History Museum showcases „Georgia: A Story of Encounters,“ an exhibition that brings together unseen treasures from Georgian museums, providing insights into the region’s complex history.

The performing arts and music program highlights Georgia’s vibrant dance, music, and theatre traditions. The festival offers performances by the Sukhishvili Ballet and the famous Gabriadze puppet theatre, while polyphonic choirs enchant audiences at various venues. Contemporary productions add a modern touch to these traditions, with innovative works exploring Georgian culture and collaborations between Georgian and Belgian artists on stage.
