The programme contributes to the replenishment of European theatres’ repertoire with productions of modern Ukrainian drama and increased Ukrainian presence in the European theatre community.The programme covers the period from 2020 to 2022 and will be implemented in three countries: Poland, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Translations of dramatic works are most often commissioned by theatres or publishing houses. An important publishing house for translations of plays is the Publishing House of Anetta Antonenko (https://anetta-publishers.com/). The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation provides funding for theatre projects that may include translation of the text (https://ucf.in.ua/en). - Which agencies represent theatre translators?

There is currently no organisation in Ukraine that unites Ukrainian theatre translators. According to the UkrainianClassification of Economic Activities , the category “Individual artistic activity” does not include literary translation, only the activities of writers and screenwriters.
- Where can I find practical answers to questions about fees, contracts, social security, status of an artist, consultation services etc. for theatre translators? Ukrainian copyright law defines minimum royalty rates and the tangible and intangible rights of authors. Theatre translators can get advice on royalties, copyright protection, and useful contacts from the National Union of Theatre Artists of Ukraine, as well as from copyright protection agencies: the All-Ukrainian League of Authors (https://ula.ua/) and the Ukrainian Theatre Partnership.The status of an artist is not defined by Ukrainian legislation.
